Our senior sides are selected from a range of different players with diverse cricketing skills and capabilities. Our thriving colts section feeds new players as they progress through the colts age groups. We are proud of our home grown philosophy reflecting the fact that we are not just a cricket club but an entire community that looks after our new young blood as well as those who are more established in the game. We are always open to senior members from outside the club. Players moving in to the area or just looking for a change of scene are welcome to come and talk to us. Of course we would welcome anyone who is talented enough to make our 1st XI but we have an active recruitment policy right through our senior sides.
Our 4th XI is our colts development sides. Many of our young colts play regular senior cricket alongside their respective colts matches. This enables them to further develop their all round game in a more challenging environment. We are always looking for senior players to join these young boys to give them support in their development.
The men's selection committee meets every Tuesday evening through the season to select players for both the Saturday and the Sunday teams for the following weekend. Players must either ensure that their availability was given to the captain after the previous match or send an email to the Cricket Chairman . After the selection committee has met, the players will be informed by email on Wednesday or Thursday.
It is the players responsibility to check their emails and ensure they understand which team they have been selected for and to understand the venue and meeting time.
In the event of a game being doubtful it is the players responsibility to contact the appropriate captain or the Fixture Secretary to find out if the game they have been selected for has been affected.
If for any reason a player finds that he is unable to play then he must contact the appropriate captain or another member of the selection committee as soon as possible.
More information and help can be obtained from the Cricket Chairman.
