Our Colts Foundation Group welcomes boys and girls of all ages up to and including normal school year 6. This is a highly successful foundation for learning to play cricket in a fun and safe environment. Boys and girls in this group have the opportunity to advance and represent the club in one of our under 10 or under 11 teams which act as a springboard for developing cricketing talent into the teenage years and beyond.

The group meet every Sunday morning throughout the summer term and the school summer holidays between 10:30 am and 12.00 noon (end April through to end July. The season ends with a festival of cricket with lots of fun for all young cricketers before they go back to school.

The focus is on teaching all the basic skills of cricket with "fun" a key component. Our coaches are ECB qualified and DBS checked and have undergone coaching courses to UKCC Level 1 or 2 standard.

If you are not already a member and would like to "have a go" we are happy for you to turn up and see if you like it. Once you are hooked (and we have very few boys or girls who decide to turn away) you can formally join the club and enjoy its amenities.

The parents enjoy Sunday mornings too. Our ever thoughtful assistants serve tea, bacon rolls and Danish pastries (at a modest cost) while the parents enjoy their Sunday morning relaxation. And to finish the morning off, why not make use of the bar facilities that conveniently open as the coaching session ends.

From the Foundation Group we select boys and girls to represent the club at Under 10 and Under 11. Squad selection takes place during early April with further continuous assessment throughout the season and those invited to join the squads train on Friday nights instead of Sundays.
